PistonHeads Sunday Service Mercedes Benz World - 14th December 2009
Another Sunday morning, another cross coutry drive to a fantastic event hosted by PistonHeads. Mercedes-Benz World proved to be an excellent
venue, with some attendees booking themselves into a drifting competition and being driven round at high speed by MB drivers. There was also
a very special McLaren SLR Sir Stirling Moss Edition. Gorgeous! Other highlights included a Ferrari F40 and a certain infamous Nissan R-35 GT-R
with a new, purple vinyl wrap on display...it looks better than it sounds, I promise! Thanks again PistonHeads and Mercedes-Benz World!
GALLERY UPDATE: I like the Sunday Services so much that they now have they're own folder in the gallery!
PistonHeads Sunday Service Rolls Royce - 11th October 2009
My second PistonHeads Sunday Service, and my second cracking morning at an excellent venue...many thanks to Rolls Royce at Goodwood!
The factory grounds were put aside for the most performance orientated and rare vehicles, but that didn't stop the
car parks having some goodies tucked away! I was glad not to make an early exit, as a gorgeous Zonda C12 (with many S upgrades
and a few more to come having chatted to the owner) rolled up a couple of hours after the start and had a crowd
around it within seconds! Looking forward to the next Sunday Service already!
Goodwood Breakfast Club Thoroughbred Sunday - 30th August 2009
A fairly sparsely attended event this month due in part to many people being away for the bank holiday weekend, however there were still some
stunning vehicles on display. Two of particular note were an utterly gorgeous Ferrari 250 Tour de France 1 louvre and a wonderfully finished
Rolls Royce pickup truck conversion! One of my favourites though, and one that drew many admirers, was a beautiful, light blue ISO
Grifo. Italian coachwork and an American V8...a perfect combination!
PistonHeads Sunday Service Wilton House - 9th August 2009
A double update today! Firstly, a massive thank you to PistonHeads, Wilton House and all those involved with organising
the amazing supercar collection. The event was held in aid of the Stars Appeal charity to help raise funds for a new
children's ward at Salisbury Hospital, and it proved to be a complete success! A Veyron, F40s, F50s, Enzos and a multitude
of Lamborghinis were just part of the mix of cars present. Of particular note was a McLaren F1 GTR that is thought to be
one of only four converted to be road legal. Enjoy the photos!
Secondly, I quickly popped in to Wings, Wheels, Speed and Steam in Maidenhead the day before and took a few photos of a few of
the classic cars that were on display. The photos can be found here.
Goodwood Festival of Speed - 4th July 2009
"True Grit - Epic Feats of Endurance" was the theme for this year's Festival, and what a turn out of classic endurance race cars there was!
One of the finest collections, in my humble opinion, was the gathering of Porsche 917s, including one converted for road use! There were also
some stunning UK debuts in the Supercar Run, with Bugatti bringing a Veyron Grand Sport, Bentley their Continental GT Supersports, and Citroen
showing their PlayStation inspired GT...spectacular does not begin to do it justice! I hope that you enjoy the photos!
Goodwood Breakfast Club Performance Car Legends - 28th June 2009
Another sunny Sunday...will our luck hold all year?! Highlights of this gathering included a unique Pagani Zonda PS, courtesy
of Peter Saywell and a beautiful Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione, but the event would not have been what it was without
the ever present Caterham 7s, Lotus Elises and other small sports cars finally being given the central stage that they so
thoroughly deserve. Lightweight is the future!
